Enrol a Young Person

All referrals for a Little Sister must be done by the Parent or Guardian.

The Little must want to have a Big Sister.

Other criteria for Little Sister applicants, as follows:

• Potential Little Sisters must be between the ages of 7 and 16;
• Potential Little Sisters must have a demonstrated need to be involved in the Big Sister program. This may include one or more of the following circumstances:
  1. child lacks positive peer relationships
  2. child is not doing well academically
  3. child has little or no access to community involvement
  4. child has low self esteem
  5. child lacks positive family relationships.
• Potential Little Sister may come from any family background; single parent (mother or father led), two parent family, foster/group home, or guardianship.
• Family/guardian must comply with the Big Sister screening process which includes; home interview, consent to obtain a doctor and school report, and an application for service.
• Potential Little Sister wants to have a Big Sister and is available to be matched with her.
• Little Sisters must be able to communicate ideas and have the potential to establish a relationship with another person as this is a necessary part of the Big Sister program.
